Image On 17 January 2007, Guy Portman, Chairman and Chief Executive of France Terre, signed the Diversity Charter.

The charter was born on 22 October 2004 on the initiative of directors of major French corporations. It immediately gained the support of the minister responsible for promoting equality of opportunity, and was developed by an independent think tank, the Institut Montaigne. France Terre has joined the 600 French companies who were already partners in the project. This commitment gives our group the opportunity to reaffirm its human values and demonstrate the attention it pays its staff.
The six points of the diversiy in the worplace charter :

  • 1 - Sensitise and inform our directors and other members of staff involved in recruitment, training and career management about the issues of non-discrimination and diversity.
  • 2 - Respect and promote the application of the non-discrimination principle in all its forms and at all stages of human resources management, including the hiring, training, advancement and professional promotion of staff.
  • 3 - Seek to reflect the diversity of French society, and in particular its cultural and ethnic diversity, in our staff at all levels of qualification.
  • 4 - Communicate our commitment to non-discrimination and diversity to all our employees, and provide information on the practical results of this commitment.
  • 5 - Make the drafting and implementation of our diversity policy a subject of discussion with staff representatives.
  • 6 - Include a chapter in the annual report describing our commitment to non-discrimination and diversity: actions undertaken, policies and results.
